Gadar 2 review
It was total déjà vu watching Sunny Deol snarl, filling up one end of the screen to the other. It brought back memories of when he did the same thing in the original Gadar, wresting his ‘dulhaniya’ from the evil hands of her Pakistani father, played by Amrish Puri, who was adept at snarls himself.
Gadar 2 follows the exact same formula as the first film, with the patriotic Tara Singh rampaging into Pakistan once more, this time to save his muscular son (Sharma) from the ruthless Major General Hamid Iqbal’s (Wadhwa) hands. So here’s the thing: until a reprise gives us something additional, why would we want to watch it?

The threat of conflict is present in 1971. In their cosy corner, Tara and Sakeena (Patel) are pleased while sonny kid Charanjeet looks around for anything to do. Jeete embarks on a search and rescue expedition after papaaji Tara vanishes during a border conflict. It begins a never-ending flurry of rattling guns, scowling soldiers, and venomous Pakistanis running after our heroes, with clamorous set pieces devised specifically to offer the two a chance to demonstrate their bravery and patriotic ardour.
Ameesha Patel
Ameesha Patel, whose wide eyes are watering from crying, occasionally appears to show the father and son her love and affection; young Jeete is also offered a love interest in the lovely young Pakistani girl Muskaan (Kaur). Thereafter, a few forgettable songs and dances are performed.
Gadar was already overly loud and melodramatic when it was first, 21 years ago. It was also very much the type of patriotic film that director Anil Sharma was renowned for making, and that style was already out of date. We had believed that the loudness, sugary, and over-the-top dialogue of modern Bollywood was securely behind us, but this iteration only serves to remind you of it. Obviously in vain.
We can affirm that Dhai-kilo-ka-haath still has some potency and that Sunny paaji can still snarl successfully. We can also confirm that a hand-pump has returned. However, a movie of this nature needs an Amrish Puri who knew just how to transform into a deserving antagonist. Mogambi kush nahin hua.

This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
